Beirut [Lebanon], July 31: Six people, including a Palestinian commander, have reportedly been killed in clashes at a large Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon.
The violence had erupted on Saturday night and then resumed on Sunday at the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp after an Islamist activist was shot at, Lebanon's state news agency NNA said. Saturday's infighting among factions left one dead and six others - including two children - injured, the agency added.
The five others were killed in Sunday's violence, media reports said. They included Brigadier Abu Ashraf al-Armoushi, who is linked to the Palestinian Fatah group, and three escorts after they had been ambushed inside the camp, NNA said.
